In Memory of Stafford Hood

The CMD-IT community has experienced a significant loss with the passing of Stafford Hood on January 15. Stafford has been a long time friend and collaborator of CMD-IT, providing culturally relevant evaluation and assessment of the Diversity as an Innovation Resource, Academic Careers Workshops, and the LEAP Alliance. Stafford was the Sheila M. Miller Professor Emeritus of Education and Founding Director Emeritus of the Center for Culturally Responsive Evaluation and Assessment in the College of Education at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

2023 Educator Workforce Investment Grant Program: Computer Science
Application Open Date: 1/25/23

In an effort to expand the state of California’s capacity to support teachers, paraprofessionals, and other educators with targeted support focused on strategies for providing high-quality Computer Science instruction and Computer Science learning experiences aligned to the California Computer Science Content Standards developed pursuant to Education Code Section 60605.4, and as part of the EWIG Program, the CDE is providing this Computer Science Professional Learning Grant: Partner Entity Request for Applications (RFA).

Over the course of 12 weeks, students built products using U.S. Census Bureau data and other federal datasets that are open and readily available to anyone, with the help of community advocates and mentors in the private sector.
