Increasing student pursuit of computing research is a top priority at Google, especially for students historically underrepresented in the field. Google’s exploreCSR awards support universities to host computer science research (CSR) workshops in order to increase the number of students from underrepresented groups pursuing CS graduate studies and research careers.
The University Relations team and Google Research, invite you to apply to the 2020 cycle of exploreCSR. Awards are eligible to university faculty (up to $18,000 in the first year), with funding intended to be used in the academic year the award is provided. exploreCSR aims to promote collaboration within and across institutions and organizations as contributors design the research workshops and sustained support for students.
In addition to funding, awardees have the opportunity to join a quarterly community of practice meeting, participate in cross-site evaluation of student outcomes, and collaborate with Google researchers.
exploreCSR has provided 39 awards since 2018, reaching over 2,100 undergraduates with opportunities in computing research. We hope you’ll join us to continue this impact in the 2020 academic year, and encourage you to share this announcement through your networks.
