Standing Against Racial Injustices: Sharing Our Stories

Join us for a panel discussion examining racial injustice from the perspective of Black professionals in computing. Our panelists will provide their stories of overcoming racial injustices to get to where they are today. They will also share advice and insights about systemic changes needed for equity and inclusion.


About Our Speakers
Dr. Jamika D. Burge is a lead for the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Design team that supports the conversational agent, Eno, at scale, at Capital One. She is also co-founder of blackcomputerHER.org.


Dr. Nicki Washington is a professor of the practice of computer science at Duke University and the author of Unapologetically Dope: Lessons for Black Women and Girls on Surviving and Thriving in the Tech.


Dr. Joel W. Branch is Chief of Product at Lucd, Inc., where he leads development of platforms for end-to-end governance, explainability, and trust in building and deploying AI solutions in the enterprise.


Dr. Bryant W. York was an associate professor of computer science at Boston University (1986 – 1991) and Northeastern University (1991 – 2001), and professor of computer science at Portland State University (2001 – 2019).
